Mark Hutchinson, CEO and Founder
With over 30 years' experience in the marketing, web, and software industries, including roles at Microsoft, Intel, and Intersolv/Merant (now Serena), Mark has a unique knowledge of both the technical and creative aspects that are involved in successful internet software and website development projects. He has applied and further developed this expertise in the creation and growth of VisionSite Corporation. He also speaks on a variety of topics, including Internet security, web marketing, and business development.
Mark has also served as a subject matter expert in multiple lawsuits where the intricacies of complex, multi-year, web-development projects were at the core of the legal disputes.
Mark enjoys contributing his energy and expertise to local non-profit organizations and as a mentor to new entrepreneurs. He is involved in local business groups including the Oregon Entrepreneurs Network, Starve Ups, Rotary, the University Club of Portland, and PDX Professionals. Mark was one of the founders of the Young Professionals of Portland networking group (now part of the PBA and renamed Emerging Professionals of Portland) and helped grow that organization to over 5,000 members.
Mark is a vigorous student of the martial art of Aikido having trained for over 25 years with the Oregon Ki Society (www.oregonki.org) under Mr. Calvin Tabata. Mark holds the rank of 4th degree black belt in Aikido and is an accredited Associate Lecturer in the Ki Society International. He continues to develop and apply the concept of mind and body coordination and the principle of non-dissension to the work environment within his own companies as well as in consulting engagements with other companies.
Mark is also one of the founding partners and the technical architect for the company WEO Media (www.weomedia.com). WEO Media, also based in Portland, is now one of the top dental marketing companies in North America and continues to grow rapidly by providing effective, cutting edge, integrated marketing solutions for all types of dentists.
Mark enjoys skiing, the beach, and playing with his kids. He also enjoys running and joining in on fun-runs around Oregon. He has finished the Portland Marathon three times in the last 15 years.
